The Buffet of Life

Buffet of LifeAllow me to analogize. Allow me to transmit an emotion through a metaphor. As you walk across the array of choices. You decide what you like. You decide what you don’t like. Only by trying it and actually tasting everything can you determine what is to your liking. And what needs to be avoided. So you avoid the tastes that make you go blah. and you indulge in what makes you go Mmm. Yes, it’s the buffet of life. some of it upsets your stomach. Some of it just settles your indigestion. Some of it makes you feel good inside. Some of it makes you need instant relief from the disfomfort. Here, take this pill. Swallow it whole. But don’t choke. Cuz then the buffet is over for you, while everyone else keeps eating. Call me in the morning doesn’t really mean call the next day. When you mourn for something it’s usually after loss. Not a good loss like losing weight. More like losing your keys. So make sure you keep track of what makes you feel good just as well as you keep track of your keys.

You choose the way you walk. You choose the way you talk. you choose the clothes you wear. You choose your favorite color. You choose what makes your heart, (aka. your spirit) zing. What makes the energy that surrounds your vessel expand giving yourself the ability to share your energy with others more easily. Just make sure you use that oven mit. Because things can get HOT and you get burnt. So don’t play with fire. Stay with the flow of traffic. And be careful of the sudden drops in that energy vortex. Because life is filled with ups and downs. Take account of the ups and how you got them. Try your hardest to duplicate. Repeat the ingredients of your recipe without becoming too repetitive. Getting yourself set in ways that you don’t want to repeat.
Learn what tastes bad. Realize there are levels of bad. That things can always get worse. Things can go from terrible to horrifying real quick. Going from a five to a two means your level is decreasing. So progress. Make sure your levels increase by any means necessary. Without hurting others. If you hurt yourself. Then at least  you know it is your fault and you reap what you sow. Try your hardest to not repeat the errors of your way. A lesson learned is an increase, to be strengthened by a challenge solved is an advancement. Just make sure to get all your necessary vitamins and try the brussel sprouts.
Make sure your hands are clean before you start your meal and then again after you finish. Because you don’t want to indulge with dirty hands and you never know what kind of smutz you have to rinse off after you are full. By all means eat until you are full, but don’t keep eating after you are full. If you try to take in too much, you can over-indulge. And spread yourself too thin. Like not putting enough butter on your toast. Take in only what you need to end your hunger. Because with the buffet of life. You decide what fills your plate.
But you can also decide to leave scraps on your plate that you change your mind on eating. So tell yourself “I’m not going to eat that” or Wow that’s delicious! And decide what to put on your plate and how you’re going to tackle the buffet of life next time you get hungry.
