Matt’s week 7 NFL fantasy report

🏈 Fantasy Football Week 7 Recap

Shakeups, Setbacks & Staying the Course

This week was one of those fantasy gauntlets where every lineup call felt upside-down. But that’s the game — you ride the highs, learn from the lows, and keep your focus on the only goal that matters: making the playoffs.

👨‍👦 Father–Son League

The league that matters most.
This week I got my butt handed to me by childhood friend Beau Rhodes, 165–117.

Key problems:
– Steelers D posted negative points
– Benched Jaxson Dart for C.J. Stroud
– Jayden Daniels went down injured

That combo buried me. Give Beau credit — five players topped 20 points, highlighted by Jonathan Taylor’s 34-point eruption.

“When your opponent has five guys go off, you tip your cap and move on,” said an analyst on NFL Fantasy Live.

📱 Influencers League

Back-to-back heartbreakers.
Another two-point loss — second straight. Last week I lost for benching Kamara. This week, I played him … and still lost. Passing on Chase Brown, Tony Pollard, and Rashee Rice cost me again.

Roster shake-ups coming:
– Justin Fields – gone; his starting days look numbered.
– Darren Waller – injured; time to move on.
– Cam Little – kicker experiment = over.

You can’t win when your kicker posts a goose egg.

“Fantasy football comes down to patience and timing,” said ESPN’s Matthew Berry. “You don’t panic after one bad week — but two straight? You adjust.”

💰 Big Money League

I started the season 5-0. Now I’m 5-2, and it was time to make a move.

Sometimes when you hit a slump, you’ve got to do something drastic to spark change. My best player has been Christian McCaffrey, but this is a two-quarterback league — and I’ve been running on fumes at QB. With Joe Burrow injured and Tua Tagovailoa playing like a shell of himself, I had to pull the trigger.

So, Christian McCaffrey and Tua Tagovailoa are being traded to Coach Ryan from Philadelphia in exchange for Lamar Jackson and Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Woohoo — I finally have a quarterback! And I like the upside: the way Cam Scadabo runs, I don’t see him staying healthy all year, so Tracy Jr. is a sneaky, stable pickup. Sure, I lose Christian, but I gain one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league — and that could be the turning point for my season.

Meanwhile, in my other three leagues, the top waiver-wire grab was Oronde Gadsden II, the Chargers’ new tight end — son of former Miami Dolphins receiver Oronde Gadsden Sr. A great name with even better upside.

🔮 The Outlook

Four leagues. Four losses. But we’re not folding.

“The best fantasy players aren’t the ones who start hot,” an analyst said on Good Morning Football. “They’re the ones who grind through the middle, adjust, and heat up in December.”

That’s the plan — tweak the rosters, stay aggressive on the wire, and lock in on the mission: get to the playoffs. Because once you’re in … anything can happen.
