After a couple of rough stretches, the tides have officially turned. This week, I went 4-0
across all leagues, including a much-needed family showdown victory — and some
impressive wins from the next generation of fantasy greatness.
Uncle vs. Nephew: The Battle of the Midwest
In my son’s league, I came out on top against my nephew Tommy from Michigan, an
incredible athlete in his own right and soon-to-be starting quarterback for Miami (Ohio)
next season. The final score: 121–109. A hard-fought battle, but experience wins again.
But the real story of the week? My son Matty’s first win of the season — and what a win it
was. He didn’t just win; he dominated, posting a league-high 203–191. The kid listened to
his old man, made some smart pickups, and it paid off big time. He snagged the Buccaneers
defense and Joe Flacco, both coming through when it mattered most. And let’s not forget
Chris Boswell, his kicker, who dropped a solid performance to help seal the win. Word is,
Matty has Boswell in all seven of his leagues. If that’s not loyalty, I don’t know what is. Big
shoutout to my boy — he earned it this week.
Influencers League: Back to .500
In the Influencers League, I’m back at 4-4, sitting at 5th place overall — still right in the
thick of the playoff race. This week was a solid win: 125–78. Unfortunately, I lost Cam
Skattebo to a horrific injury — one of those moments you never want to see. If you didn’t
catch it, don’t go searching for it. Just brutal. Never wish that on any player.
My opponent had a tough week, with Jerry Jeudy, Drake London, and the Falcons D/ST all
putting up zeros. That’s fantasy for you. Sometimes you’re on the right side of the luck —
and this week, I was. Go Miami.
Big Money League: The Trade Pays Off
Now to my Big Money League, where I grabbed another win, 188–151. I’ll be honest — I
was a little nervous about the trade I made last week, sending Christian McCaffrey to Coach
Ryan in exchange for Lamar Jackson and Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Well… looks like that deal aged very well. With Cam Skattebo now injured, Tyrone Tracy
steps up as the RB1 for the New York Giants, flipping that trade completely in my favor.
Lamar returns this week, and my RB2, Breece Hall, finally broke out with 38 points — an
absolute monster performance. Losing CMC stings, but with Lamar and Breece heating up,
I’ll take it every time.
Sleeper League: Barkley’s Back
Finally, in my Sleeper League, I rolled to another win, 190–132, improving to 3-5. The big
story here is simple: Saquon Barkley is back. When you’ve got a running back like that,
you’re playoff-bound — and if you’re not, you’re doing something wrong.
My recent pickup Oronde Gadsden II has been a gem, and if he keeps producing, I’ll be in
great shape moving forward. With the Eagles on bye, I’m targeting Tyrone Tracy Jr. again
and running Joe Flacco as my backup QB behind Jalen Hurts. Enjoy the week off, Jalen —
we’ve got it covered.
Final Thoughts: From 0–4 to 4–0
From winless to flawless, this was the week we needed. Fantasy football is a game of
adjustments, luck, and faith in your gut — and this week, it all came together. Momentum’s
real, and we’re carrying it into Week 9. Let’s keep the streak alive.
