On Saturday, November 29th 2025. Miami Springs police and city officials including councilman Fabian Perez-Crespo gathered around a termite ridden tree that was downed by the storm the day before. The stink of rotten wood was in the air as the Miami Springs farmers market was postponed that day. Martha Flietas always postpones the market the weekend of Thanksgiving. So it was canceled for the day. The tree went down at the right time, because it would have landed directly on to several of the farmers market vendors tents. Robert Ventura of Ventura R. Tree & Stump Removal was on the scene to lend his expertise on the subject. Ventura said “Thank God it fell when it did and not during the farmers market because there may have been injuries”
