There is a reason why we call it historic Miami Springs. The photo was taken by the founder of Miami Springs Glenn Curtiss himself in 1924. It shows one of his Curtiss Jenny airplanes on the first block of Broadway in Country Club Estates (now Westward Drive). The Circle, the Curtiss Bright Administration Building & Hialeah can be seen in the distance. The pilot of the plane was Andrew Heermance, Miami Springs pioneer who’s home was on Fairway Drive in historic Miami Springs.
