DejaVu Sets Woody’s On Fire

It was a warm night in paradise as the crowd gathered on the West side of Miami Springs at Woody’s Backyard Grill. 600 Payne Dr. 305-307-1714. It was a bounty of smiles and laughing for the live DejaVu show. Their high energy latin punk alternative sound filled the air. Families hugged their little ones. Husbands hugged their wives and friends high-fived their best amigos. The high vibrational positive energy was shared throughout. Lead singer Hilel Potaznik pumped up the crowd as guitarist Guillermo Perez hit those notes just right. And drummer Avi D. kept the beat while bass player Peter J. made Woody’s shake to the rumble of that DejaVu sound. It was truly a night to remember. As the staff scattered around like busy bees. Even owner Tony Reyes was cleaning tables and in the heat of the kitchen preparing food for all the guests. A true insperation to another business owner as you don’t always see that hands on approach. But he makes it work. He makes the place function properly, especially as of late as Woody’s has become the hot-spot around town. Just telling you like it is. No blowing smoke, no telling a lie. Just having pride for an amazing establishment getting it done. Whether it’s under the Sun or the Moonlight, Wood’y’s holds their own and meets its customers’needs, no matter how much they have to sweat it out to do so.

DejaVu stands out among the myriad of local bands. They have been together since 2000 as they started in Venezuela and moved here 15 years ago. So they are an international band. They continue to rehearse once a month. Since they have been around for 26 years. It is easy for them to put together their sound. And they showed it off well on the night of May 22nd at Wood’s Backyard Grill, the perfect venue for their show.  Woody’s better start bringing in more tables as most of them have been occupied. They better start building more parking spots as the nightlife in the area flocks there. Because around here, it is easy for fans to find their bands especially with the help of River Cities Gazette keeping everyone informed.
