As I step into the role of the publisher of River Cities Gazette. I reflect on how my father Tom started the newspaper when I was two years old. I have been surrounded by the Gazette my entire life. Born and raised in Miami Springs. My father was my little league coach, we were the Padres. I went to Springview Elementary as a young one. I graduated from Miami Springs Senior High School as a part of the school newspaper. The Zeitgeist was the name of the paper. It refers to the moral and cultural climate of the specific era. I was a writer and the photographer of The Zeitgeist. I graduated with honors in 1996. I attended University of South Florida in Tampa and received my associates of arts degree.
For the last twenty five years, I have been the assistant publisher of the River Cities Gazette. It was the plan from the start for me to take over the helm. As the Gazette is a family business. I am ecstatic to announce. That day has come. My passion, my dedication, my focus and my drive has been the River Cities Gazette for the majority of my adult life. As I continue the legacy of greatness passed down to me by my father Tom Curtis. And take over the reins as a true leader. Ready to tackle any issue that comes my way. Thanks to God, I have the strength to do so.
